“Jesus the Master Teacher: Jesus’ Teachings in their First-century Jewish Context” is a five-part lecture series by Dr. Randall Buth, that focuses on how the linguistic background of the Gospels is key to understanding the teaching methods and message of Jesus.
The lecture series was recorded in Holland, Michigan, November 10-11, 2001 for the En-Gedi Resource Center (https://EnGediResourceCenter.com), and was originally available for purchase on CD. These hard-to-find recordings are now available as downloadable .mp3 audio files from the JP Bookstore, so listeners can take a front row seat at Dr. Buth’s lectures.
Lectures in the series include:
- Session One: Learning to Read Between the Lines: “What Be Commandment Big in the Law?”
- Session Two – Part One: The Rabbinic Technique of Gezera Shavah
- Session Two – Part Two: Peter and the Rock
- Session Three: The Message of the Vineyard
- Session Four: Binding and Loosing: Exercising Your Senses to Discern Good and Evil
- Session Five: Your Money or Your Life!
Thanks to Lois Tverberg for allowing Jerusalem Perspective to add these items to the JP Bookstore, and to Pieter Lechner for remastering the audio for an enhanced listening experience.
