Lauren Asperschlager graduated from Gordon College in 2002 with a B.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies and a concentration in Biblical Languages. She then earned an M.A. in Hebrew Bible from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2005. She and her husband, Joshua Tilton, then lived for two years in Jerusalem, Israel where she continued her studies at the Rothberg International School of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, earning an M.A. in Religious Studies with a focus on Hebrew Bible. Lauren and Joshua currently reside in Maine.

Since November of 2013, Lauren has worked for David Bivin as copy editor of The Life of Yeshua: A Suggested Reconstruction.
