Jack Poirier

Jack Poirier is the chair of biblical studies at the newly forming Kingswell Theological Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio (scheduled to open in Fall 2008). Jack earned his doctorate in Ancient Judaism from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City, where he wrote a dissertation on “The Tongues of Angels in Classical Jewish and Christian Sources.” He also holds Master’s Degrees from Duke University and Oral Roberts University. Jack’s research interests are broad: he has published articles in the areas of Bible (both Old and New Testaments), ancient Judaism, early Church history, and biblical hermeneutics. His most recent work has been in response to postliberal theology and postmodern hermeneutics. Jack currently lives in Middletown, Ohio, and has two children: Nicholas and Natalie.
