Clifton H. Payne, Jr., has been a student and researcher of the Jewish roots of Christianity for over 20 years. He has a degree in religion from Gadsden State Community College and studied Jewish history, Talmud, Hebrew and archaeology at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Alabama for the Judaic Studies Department and has led seminars and study groups in Judaic-Christian studies for more than 10 years. Clifton is the senior pastor of Trussville Community Church and also serves as the Alabama representative for Bridges for Peace and Jerusalem Perspective. He is married to Melanie Judith McNutt and they have two sons, Matthew and Joshua.
