Clifton H. Payne, Jr., a long-time friend of David Bivin (JP’s founder), JP author,[1] and supporter of Jerusalem Perspective, recently published a new book entitled What the Bible Says About Tithing and Giving: It’s Different Than You Think.[2]

Clifton Payne wrote this new book “to help people understand what Scripture actually teaches” about tithing and giving “and to encourage them to be more generous givers.” Payne hopes that when readers understand “the why of giving” they will not “simply be coerced into giving,” but joyfully give from the heart.
Describing the new book, David Bivin wrote:
…If you could have just one book in your library on tithing, this would be the book.
Dr. Marvin Wilson, emeritus professor of Biblical Studies at Gordon College wrote:
I am delighted to endorse Clifton Payne’s…What the Bible Says About Tithing and Giving: It’s Different Than You Think. …I believe [it] deserves a wide circulation…. I highly recommend it.
What the Bible Says About Tithing and Giving was a 2025 International Book Awards Finalist.
Copies of What the Bible Says About Tithing and Giving can be purchased from booksellers including Amazon, Books A Million and Barnes & Noble. Book stores can source copies through IngramSpark.
