JP needs to upgrade its website, not because we don’t like the current look and feel of JerusalemPerspective.com, but because in the fast-paced world of technology so much has changed over the past four years. In order for JP to continue providing our users a quality experience as well as invaluable content, we need to keep up with the advances of internet technology. But to do that, we’ll need your help.

In 2012 JerusalemPerspective.com received a complete facelift, and believe it or not, the time has come to do it again.

Here are the main issues our website’s upgrade will address:

JP’s aging site is getting slower and slower. A slow load time reduces our rankings on search engines and discourages visitors. Upgrading our website will allow visitors to use our site to its fullest potential.

41% of JP’s visitors are using a smartphone or tablet, but our site isn’t designed for the mobile platform. The upgrade to our website will fix that by offering mobile users an optimal experience when exploring all that JP has to offer. Having a mobile-ready site will also increase our search engine rankings.

Behind the scenes, our website is causing more and more errors because of the age of our software. While our WordPress platform continues to be updated monthly, the last time our theme was updated was in December 2012. An upgrade will mean that JP’s editorial staff will be able to spend less time fixing problems and more time creating the content you value.

There have been many enhancements available to our site that we hope to take advantage of with our new theme, including auto-publishing to Facebook and a robust sharing capability which allows users to easily share our article to their favorite social network.

These upgrades are necessary, but they come at a cost. It will take $4,500 to have a programmer redesign our site so that it is mobile-ready with fast load times using the latest technologies. That’s a lot of money and we’ll need your help to raise the full amount. If you use JP’s website and appreciate the wealth of knowledge about Jesus, the Gospels and first-century Jewish culture that we offer, please consider making a donation to the JP upgrade fund, so that we can continue to pursue our mission.
